Boondocker Bulletin

Our Story

Built for RVers Who Camp Free

Why We Started

Most RV content online is aimed at luxury coaches and resort campgrounds. We built the Boondocker Bulletin for everyone else — the budget traveler, the full-timer living on a tight budget, the weekender who wants to escape pavement and hook-up fees.

Boondocking — dry camping on public land with no facilities — is one of the great freedoms left in American travel. But finding good spots, staying legal, and doing it safely takes knowledge most RV blogs don't teach. That's the gap we fill.

What We Cover

  • Free camping spots — BLM land, National Forest dispersed sites, state trust land, and stealth urban camping
  • Off-grid systems — solar sizing, lithium battery banks, water hauling, composting toilets
  • Gear reviews — honest takes on what's worth the money and what isn't
  • Skills & how-tos — leveling, generator etiquette, dump station finds, staying safe in remote areas
  • Policy news — BLM rule changes, forest road closures, dispersed camping limits

The Newsletter

Every week we send one email: practical, short, and actionable. No affiliate link dumps, no 3,000-word essays. Just the stuff you can use on your next trip.

It's free. It always will be. We sustain this through occasional gear recommendations we believe in and by keeping overhead low.

Who's Behind This

The Boondocker Bulletin is published by RV Insider Media LLC, a small independent media company focused on practical content for the RV community. We don't have a sponsor's logo above the fold, and we don't sell your email to anyone.

"The best campsite is the one nobody's charging you for."
